Types of Tanning Beds
Charactistics of Each Tanning Solution
| Low Pressure Beds Tanning beds, which deliver power from fluorescent type tubes, are referred to as low-pressure beds. Low-pressure beds use florescent lamps, (100 to 220 Watts.) The output of low-pressure beds tends to be rich in UVB and low in UVA. Low-pressure beds are characterized by having high levels of UVB whereas high-pressure beds have increased levels of UVA and lower levels of UVB. Higher levels of UVA allow the tan to last longer and reduce the risk of UVB burning. |  |
| Medium Pressure Beds The medium pressure beds feature higher intensity (46) 160 watt reflector lamps that will take you to your next tanning level with lower amounts of UVB ray, commonly referred to as the "reddening" ray, to give you color that lasts longer. This 12 minute bed also features (6) 500 watt high pressure facial lamps that are softer on the skin but still give you a great tan. |  |
| High Pressure Beds High-pressure beds use only Quartz lamps to deliver results. High-pressure means there is more UVA and higher air pressure in the bulb (300 to 2,000 Watts.) These lamps have a much lower content of UVB, thus reducing the risks of burning and allowing your skin to maintain a normal exfoliation process. Therefore results by high pressure tanning last much longer! |  |
| Standup Booth The Sun Capsule is vertical tanning at its best! Forty-eight 160-watt bulbs completely surround your body to give you an even bronzing that you would find hard to accomplish any other way. Because of the more than 360 degress tanning radius, your tan is better underneath your arms and on your sides. The internal fan moves air through the unit to keep you cool and perspiration-free. So turn up the tunes, and, if the mood hits you, dance your way to a perfect tan. The Sun Capsule is an experience in itself. The maximum time spent in here is 10 minutes. Even if you prefer to relax in one of our beds, the Sun Capsule is great to use once in a while to "round out your tan". | |
